Sis, Boom, Bah! Go Tigers!

Last Friday night, Alexis got to cheer at the High School Football Game. She attended the mini cheer camp two days that week. Her best friend also attended & they had a blast at the game. I don't think I paid any attention to the game that night. Cheerleaders were much more interesting! I counted around 65 girls ranging from K-5th grade.

Warming up the legs.

Spread out girls!

Alexis looking for mommy.

Alexis & Bentley
They really did some cute cheers.

Nolen finds April. Nolen didn't want to sit in the stands. He was just TOO busy!

Hey mom is the game almost over? I'm ready to go spend the night with Bentley!

Cheer time is over, now we can spend the night with each other!

Red, White, and Blue

Thursday was red, white, and blue day at school. It was also class picture day. Here is what Alexis decided to wear. This is her dress that Grandma Lynn bought her. I just had time to snap a quick photo before we loaded up. I have no idea what she is doing with her hands. We painted finger nails and toe nails the night before in bright red.

Alexis had to get her eyes dilated today for some more testing. The Dr. decided that she needs glasses for reading. Her left eye is shorter than her right eye and the right eye seems to be doing most of the work. Without glasses, she might loose vision in her left eye in the future. So we will soon be picking out a fancy new pair of glasses for her. She will have to wear them all the time, except for P.E., recess, and other activities that might damage them.
Last year Alexis had an injury to her eye caused by a fiberglass pole that she was carrying down the slide. It split her eyelid and she now has a little skin missing where some eyelashes were. Today the Dr. noticed that an eyelash was rubbing her eye. It grows toward the eye now due to the previous damage. So the Dr. plucked it out and we will probably have to do this in the future when it grows back. It wasn't fun trying to hold my daughter still for eye drops & plucking today. Wore me out! Glad the tough part is over with for now. She is excited about getting the glasses, but just last week she was in tears because she thought she might have to get them. Something changed her mind. Maybe because Grandma, Grandpa, cousin Riley, mommy, and many other relatives all wear them. Oops did I say mommy? I mean mommy SHOULD wear hers. Guess I'll go find mine and put them on.

A Weekend Full of FUN!

Greg came for a visit this weekend from KY. He is Pete's hunting buddy and old college pitching partner. He came to help put up deer stands. In November he will stay a week & do some major deer hunting.

Alexis & Nolen with Lisa, Greg's girlfriend.
The crew!

Lisa & I found out that we share July 3rd for our birthdays! How neat is that!

Labor Day Flying! Nolen takes his first plane ride!

A view of the airport from the sky.

Our house from up above.

Wal-Mart DC, a view of all the semis that seem to travel by my house non stop.

Grandma & Grandpa Seals house is in the woods below.

Time to land.

Nolen enjoys the plane ride.

Back on the ground. Alexis decided to sit this trip out. She stayed on the ground with Grandma and played with the Baker boys at the airport.

Alexis & Nolen enjoy playing at Grandma's house in one of Brandon's old toys.

Peaches! Just after this photo was taken, Nolen got the peach & threw it at Alexis.

Here is a NO NO NOLEN moment. Guess he needed a Kleenex or two or 50.

My Queen & King. Of what I'm not for sure. Maybe the Queen & King of making messes. At least the title fits Nolen to a T.

Look out world, here she comes!

Here is Alexis all ready for Kindergarten.

Nolen wanted to pose with his big sister.

Alexis with her best friend. They are not in the same class this year, but I bet they see each other often on the playground.

Getting on the bus for a fun ride.

I had to get a photo with my big girl. She is so excited about school. Someone pinch me....my daughter is already in Kindergarten. Where has the time gone?

Blast From The Past

Old cars were cruising through town this evening. The big car show is at the city park tomorrow. They cruise to Noble and then back to Olney and drive by all the nursing homes. Went to Burgin Manor to visit my grandpa and watch the cars with him. Took some photos of our favorites.

Ed & Esther Jones in this purple vehicle. I have no idea what it is, but I'm sure my dad would know.

A guy that Pete went to school with is driving this truck. I bet it has seen a few mud holes in the past.
All I have to say about this one is, "Watch out for the bugs!" There is a windshield, but the people sit higher than it.

August 8, 1998

This is what was happening 11 years ago today in my life. I married my best friend!
Sorry for those on Face Book for the repeat, but I have many friends that check out my blog that are not on FB. Pete & I won the drawing they have every Friday at the local radio station for birthdays/anniversaries. We won an ice cream cake from DQ & other gift certificates.
I celebrated on Friday by giving myself a shopping trip to Effingham. It was so fun to shop alone & not have to worry about others.

Back row: Kathy Knapp, Marla, Sara Herdes-Bergbower (Maid of Honor)

Front row: Kelly Westall, Courtnie & Kelsie Seals (Flower girls)

Back row: Jarrod Knapp (Usher), Jason Steber (Usher), Dave Kuhlig (Best Man)
Front row: Greg Neace, Pete holding Gabe (Ring Bearer), Brad Mann

On left: Ray & Charlotte Lynn
On right: Paul & Candy Seals

I should have known something was up with Jarrod that close with the camera & his dad in the back waiting patiently.

This photo cracks me up because the guys have their hands in their pockets. I think I had to pick up the garter off of the floor & then I put it on Jarrod's head.

My beautiful cake made by my mother.
