Thursday was red, white, and blue day at school. It was also class picture day. Here is what Alexis decided to wear. This is her dress that Grandma Lynn bought her. I just had time to snap a quick photo before we loaded up. I have no idea what she is doing with her hands. We painted finger nails and toe nails the night before in bright red.

Alexis had to get her eyes dilated today for some more testing. The Dr. decided that she needs glasses for reading. Her left eye is shorter than her right eye and the right eye seems to be doing most of the work. Without glasses, she might loose vision in her left eye in the future. So we will soon be picking out a fancy new pair of glasses for her. She will have to wear them all the time, except for P.E., recess, and other activities that might damage them.
Last year Alexis had an injury to her eye caused by a fiberglass pole that she was carrying down the slide. It split her eyelid and she now has a little skin missing where some eyelashes were. Today the Dr. noticed that an eyelash was rubbing her eye. It grows toward the eye now due to the previous damage. So the Dr. plucked it out and we will probably have to do this in the future when it grows back. It wasn't fun trying to hold my daughter still for eye drops & plucking today. Wore me out! Glad the tough part is over with for now. She is excited about getting the glasses, but just last week she was in tears because she thought she might have to get them. Something changed her mind. Maybe because Grandma, Grandpa, cousin Riley, mommy, and many other relatives all wear them. Oops did I say mommy? I mean mommy SHOULD wear hers. Guess I'll go find mine and put them on.
