Coloring Easter Eggs

We colored 2 dozen eggs on Friday.

If you notice, Nolen is not in the photos. I decided that we would color eggs while he was napping. There would be less mess that way. Anyway, he has a bad cough and a nose that won't stop. I call him my snot machine.

Church Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday was the perfect day to have the Easter egg hunt......INDOORS AGAIN!

Every year it rains when the hunt is scheduled.

Alexis shows how many she collected.

Nolen finds one in the pew.

Nolen wins a carrot bat and daddy shows him the correct way to hold it.

Dad I think you're going to need more than doggy ears to keep your head warm in this weather.
Danny you posed for another picture. I thought you learned your lesson last time. Now you're back on the blog again. NICE EARS!!!

Alexis attends her first wedding

Courtney & Aaron on their way to get bubbled! Hey when I got married we used rice. Bring back the rice!

On Saturday I took Alexis to a wedding. She had a lot of questions throughout the ceremony, but behaved good.

A few photos of Alexis before the wedding.

How about this for a cake topper, deer heads and hunters on top.

Alexis with her good friend Abby. They had a lot of fun on the dance floor. A little boy even asked Alexis for a dance. It was a fast song not a slow one. Some how Alexis ended up falling down and got a red mark by her eye.

Pretty flowers that don't last long

Every year I take Alexis' picture in front of these flowers. It blooms and then in less than a week, they are all on the ground. Usually the wind and rain completely wipe out the blossoms. It's raining today, so they will probably be all gone by tomorrow.

Nolen saw the flowers and tried to eat them. He still puts EVERYTHING in his mouth.

Family fun night at school

I'm a little late about getting these photos posted considering the family fun night was a few weeks ago. Better late than never I guess.
A story teller uses a fishing pole and guitar to tell a story about singing to catch fish. Of course all the little ones wanted a turn with the fishing pole.

Alexis takes her turn with Oobi eyes.

Alexis and her friend Bentley eat icing sandwiches. They had gummy worms to put inside them. Yum Yum!

You MUST Go See Peter Pan!

I took Alexis to the Peter Pan play last night at our local college. It was wonderful and even included the actors flying. We had a great time and the cast did a great job. So if you are in the area, get tickets and go see it. You won't be disappointed!

Here is Alexis with Peter Pan after the show. The actor is just a sophomore in High School, but acted like a professional.

Alexis with Captain Hook. We know this actor, Pete went to school with him. We didn't know he could act and sing.

After the show, you could purchase fairy dust. Here is Alexis with her bag. She was instructed NOT to throw it in the house. This will be an outside activity.

FYI - My days of dial up service will FINALLY come to an end. We are getting wireless internet in a few weeks.

Who has not been affected by the sickness?

It seems like when one gets sick, we all get sick. Nolen has had a runny nose for almost a month now. Took him to the Dr. several weeks ago and he had bronchitis. He took medicine for 5 days and still wasn't able to kick the cough. At a follow up appointment, the Dr. noticed some fluid in his ears so he had to do 10 days of antibiotics. When I was dropping him off at day care on Thursday, he vomited everywhere. So I packed him up and took him to Grandma's. That evening I really didn't feel like cooking, so Alexis & I ate at McDonald's. We picked up Nolen and went home. As soon as we walked in the door, Alexis vomited everywhere. Great! Now I've got two sick kids. No sleep tonight! By this point, I'm thinking I might be 40 before I get some good sleep, little did I know that my chance was coming. Pete stayed home with both kids on Friday and they both seemed to be doing a lot better and even went outside for some fresh air. Saturday morning the kids helped me hand wash my car. We'll Alexis helped me and Nolen kept licking the car for some reason. I guess he was thirsty. Had the In-laws over for supper that evening and Paul wasn't feeling so well right before they left. Later that night....Pete's turn to get sick & did he ever. I don't know how many trips to the bathroom he made, but I know he seemed to wake me up every time. Then my stomach suddenly didn't feel well. Before I knew it...my turn to visit the restroom. As we lay there in bed, we were wondering who was going to take care of the kids on Sunday. Pete seemed to get most of it out of his system by Sunday morning, but I still felt miserable and couldn't go to church. Even though it was my Sunday to play the piano, had to call a fill in. So I lay in bed most of Sunday (this was my chance to get caught up on some sleep, but I didn't want to be sick doing it). Then the storm hit. That got me out of bed. When a brick house shakes, look out! The wind had been blowing for a few days, but it was really gusty when the storm hit. I ran to the back bathroom closet and Pete already had the kids there. He watched out the window while the swing set was once again knocked over by wind. This time it tore up some of it that will have to be replaced. Nolen had just learned how to go up the ladder and down the slide all by himself. Now he will have to wait for a new slide. We found it in the field north of our house all cracked. We all went to work and school today. I'm hoping the sick bugs stay away for a long time. I think I need to restock my medicine cabinet. I'm at least happy that Nolen will take his medicine. A boy that puts anything and everything in his mouth should like medicine as well. I'm just tired of wiping his nose and I know it hurts. He loves being outdoors and he sleeps so much better after playing out there for a while. I know we will spend many many hours outside when the weather stays nice. Ok this is a long posting, guess I'd better get back to washing the nasty germs out of the sheets. WATCH OUT FOR THE SICK GERMS, THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!
