Girls Night Out

Took Alexis to the Wild West Puppet Show at the library tonight.

Alexis with her best friend Bentley. Waiting for the show to start.

A tall ghost puppet.

Painted horses dancing. Alexis turned around and said, "Mom take a picture of them"!

Billy the Kid and Miss Kitty.

At the end of the show, the kids got to play with some puppets.

Nothing beats ice cream after a great show. Another friend joined us and boy they were messy eaters. Alexis even had ice cream on her nose. The weather was just perfect for eating outside. We had lots of fun & Alexis had a hard time saying goodbye to her friends.

Nolen visits the ER!

Saturday night around 8:00 Nolen decides to hit hit eyebrow on the knob of an end table. As we decided whether of not to take him to the ER, a storm was about to hit. We waited about 30 minutes and took him in. I was wondering how we were going to hold him down for stitches. Luckily they just glued the gash shut. Pete said he could have saved a lot of money and just super glued it. Guess we didn't make it through the summer without an ER visit. My kids and their eye injuries! Nolen is like a bull dog and he is very accident prone.

This photo was taken while we waited in the ER. Nolen only gets his pacifier at bed time, but we thought we'd let him have it considering the injury and it calmed him down.

Does anyone know what kind of butterfly/moth this is? This thing was HUGE! If I put both my hands together and pretend it is a butterfly, that is how big this thing was. It about landed on my head while I was outside picking up sticks Saturday afternoon. The body was as big as a fuzzy caterpillar. Just wondering if anyone had seen anything like this at their house. Maybe I'll look it up on the Internet. I thought it was injured, but after I moved it with a stick, it decided to fly away. Looked like a bird flying.
*My other Saturday story goes like this: While still picking up sticks outside and the little ones napping inside, I look up and notice a coyote chasing a baby deer across our field. I knew who was going to win that race. So the coyote kills and drags the deer toward the fence row. As I'm grabbing the phone to call Pete, I notice another coyote chasing another baby deer. Great, another death right in front of me. This coyote sees me and drops the deer and trots off toward the fence row. I finally got a hold of Pete on the phone & he was just up the road on his way home. He said to stay in the shed and out of sight and the coyote would come back after his kill. So he got the gun ready and held it out the shed window. In about 5 minutes that coyote came into view and was ready to come get his supper. Needless to say, he didn't eat supper, Pete got him. I couldn't believe what was happening right in front of me! It really shook me up. Pete has my message on his voice mail and he calls it my 911 call. I did manage to run into the house to get the video camera, but I only got a few seconds of the coyote running away and the battery went dead. Go figure! What a crazy day!

Recent Photos

Alexis likes to mess with my piano. She just loves all the sounds it can make.

Me practicing, this is what I need to do more of.

Chocolate pudding + Nolen = need I say more?

I needed a new photo in my locket, because I hadn't put Nolen's pic in yet. Don't care if they are in the their pj's. Made a cute photo.

Nolen's first boat ride, water balloon.

Nolen learns about water balloons today. He was busting them quicker than I could get them filled.

Pete went fishing this morning & they were biting today. Stocking up for a future fish fry.

The whole family went for a boat ride late this afternoon. This was Nolen's first ride. I think he is still pointing to the sky because of the airplanes he saw yesterday.

Alexis catches her first fish all by herself. She casted it and caught a small fish on the first throw. She didn't even have bait in the hook. Way to go girl! She really wanted to keep it in a fish bowl and make it her pet, but decided to let daddy cut it up.

Nolen tries out the drivers seat. It was hard to hang onto him because he really wanted to jump overboard when we were going slow.

Let's Play Whack A Mole Today!

Went to visit my parents today and mom noticed a mole working right where we were standing. She went to get the hoe. You don't need a $30 mole trap to catch a mole. All you need to do is catch one working and stop your foot behind where he is working. That way he can't run backwards. With a hoe, start digging up where the mole was working & dig him up. Then whack him with the hoe of course. This thing was huge, as big as a small kitten I'd say. Alexis thought it was neat to see.

Alexis looking at the mole, she even touched it. YUCK!

Nolen & Alexis drove the Jeep around the yard. Nolen wanted to drive from the passenger seat.

*Note: The song I picked really doesn't have anything to do with this post. We heard Sissy's Song on the radio today and Alexis really liked it.

Owner of a new vehicle

I decided to make my purchase on GM'S bankruptcy day. Bought a new 09 Chevy Traverse today. Now we have all kinds of room for the kids & their stuff. Seats 8, so grandma & grandpa don't have to drive separate anymore.
